Two artists from Arts University College will be selected for the VPK residency in Milan, for 15 days. The residency is full-founded by AUB and will start on November 1^st (arrival day) and finish on November 15^th (departure day) 2018. This year the residency be run in Viafarini-in-residence spaces and will be focused on the relation between video art practice and performative process.The public space will be the issue linking the artist in residency with Milan. Milan is a city where visual communication dominates the urban panorama. Design, fashion, advertisements, monuments and street interventions permeate inhabitants’ eyes all day long. Which place can be taken by art in this overbooked landscape? How to deal with passers by and urban dynamics?The artists in residence will be encouraged to realize a new independent video-art-work with the idea to present it during Camouflage opening. Artists’ reflexions and outcomes will be presented in an open-studio on November 14^th and on VisualcontainerTV international videoart webchannel.Alessandra Arnò, Marisol Malatesta and Simona Da Pozzo will be tutoring the invited artist within thre different axes: Arnò on videoart, Da Pozzo on performance and public space, Malatesta on the connections between bread and art making. A collective encounter between all involved artists will be held at Spazio Tilde in the frame of a portfolio-review following the bread-making workshop. This is an important moment in which the artists in residency are invited to discover bread-making and make a proposal for an exhibition.
